Penny AI ("Penny," "we," "our") is a browser extension that provides AI chat, Web3 token monitoring, news aggregation, memory, and diary features through an interactive 3D avatar. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using the Penny AI extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Penny AI collects only the data necessary to provide its core features:

  • Chat messages — Conversation history between you and Penny, stored locally and on our server via Supabase to provide memory and diary features.
  • Web page content — When you explicitly ask Penny to summarize or analyze a page, the page content is temporarily processed. No browsing history is collected or stored.
  • Wallet address — Your Solana wallet address (public key) is used solely for authentication via Phantom wallet. We do not store private keys or seed phrases.
  • Usage data — Basic interaction data (conversation count, check-in streaks, badge progress) is stored to track your achievements and relationship growth with Penny.

We do not collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Health or medical data
  • Financial or payment information
  • Location data
  • Browsing history or visited URLs
  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, or screen recordings
  • Passwords, credentials, or personal identification numbers

3. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Providing AI chat responses with contextual memory
  • Generating daily diary entries from meaningful conversations
  • Tracking emotional bonding and badge achievements
  • Displaying Web3 token monitoring and news aggregation
  • Authenticating your identity via wallet sign-in
  • Improving the extension experience (anonymized usage patterns only)

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in two locations:

  • Local storage — Chat history, settings, and badge state are cached in your browser's local storage for offline access and fast loading.
  • Supabase (cloud) — Messages, memories, diary entries, profile data, and badge progress are stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption at rest and in transit.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

5. Third-Party Services

Penny AI uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — Database and authentication provider. Data is stored on their infrastructure.
  • AI API providers — DeepSeek, OpenAI, or Google Gemini (depending on your configuration) process chat messages to generate responses. No personal identifiers are sent with these requests.
  • Solana RPC nodes — Used to fetch on-chain data (token prices, wallet balances). These queries are public by nature.
  • News RSS/API sources — 12+ crypto news sources are fetched for the news aggregation feature. No personal data is sent to these sources.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for any purpose not described in this policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you maintain an account with Penny AI. You may request deletion of your data at any time. Chat messages and diary entries are retained to provide continuity of experience across sessions. Local storage data persists until you clear your browser data or uninstall the extension.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of your data stored on our servers.
  • Delete — Request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
  • Correct — Update or correct inaccurate information.
  • Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — Uninstall the extension to stop all data collection immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

Penny AI is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the extension interface. Your continued use of Penny AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
